#WalangPasok – Class suspensions for July 29 2017

Even as it gradually moves out of the Philippine area of responsibility, tropical storm “Gorio” still continues to intensify monsoon rains in parts of Luzon, including Metro Manila and nearby provinces. Because of this, classes in certain areas will likely remain suspended for Saturday, July 29.
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) warned that light to moderate with occasional heavy rains can be experienced by those living in Metro Manila, Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, Pampanga, Bulacan, Zambales, Bataan, and Tarlac by Thursday night night. This means that flooding is possible in low-lying areas and in communities near river channels.

POSTSCRIPT: Students and their parents should note that even if their respective local government units and/or school did not issue class suspensions today, the decision to attend classes or not ultimately lies on their hands.
According to CHED Memorandum #15 s. 2012, “even without the suspension of classes, students who are unable to report to class or participate in scheduled activities such as exams, due to inclement weather, shall be given consideration and be allowed to make up for the missed class or activity.”
