#WalangPasok – Class suspensions for February 27 2017 due to the transport strike

In light of the scheduled nationwide transport strike by jeepney drivers tomorrow, the Office of the President has announced that classes for elementary and high school levels throughout Metro Manila will be suspended for February 27. Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea made the announcement Sunday night.
In the hours before Malacañang’s announcement, several local government units and educational institutions have already declared the suspension of classes on their own. Different organization of jeepney drivers and operators are protesting the government’s plan to modernize the public transportation industry.
It is likely that more local government units and educational institutions will make similar announcements in the next few hours. The Filipino Scribe will update this post if and when new information becomes available:

(PS: It’s kinda illogical that the Office of the President only suspended classes for elementary and high school levels in Metro Manila.
Come to think of it, college students are the ones that are more likely to travel to another city for their classes. Elementary and HS students oftentimes study in schools near where they live.)
