#WalangPasok – Class suspensions for October 17 2016 due to Typhoon Karen
(UPDATE, 8PM)
Local government units in several areas have announced the suspension of classes in their respective constituencies tomorrow, October 17, due to typhoon “Karen” (international name: Sarika). Even though the typhoon is already expected to leave the Philippine area of responsibility tomorrow, it will most likely continue to bring heavy rains in many parts of Luzon.
It is certain that other LGUs will be basing their decision regarding possible class suspensions tomorrow on PAGASA’s weather bulletins to be released later today. This post will be updated if and when such announcements are made.
As stipulated in President Benigno Aquino III’s Executive Order 66, classes in all levels are automatically suspended in areas under Signal #3. Meanwhile, classes up to high school are suspended in areas under signal #2. Lastly, classes in preschool and kindergarten are suspended for areas under signal #1.
REMINDER TO COLLEGE STUDENTS:
If there’s heavy rains or floods in the area where you will be coming from, keep in mind CHED Memo #15 (2012).
“Students who are unable to report to class or participate in scheduled activities such as exams due to inclement weather shall be given consideration and be allowed to make up for the missed class or activity.”
Dear students,
Kung sobrang lakas ng ulan o baha sa lugar ninyo, keep in mind this provision from CHED Memo #15 (2012).#WalangPasok pic.twitter.com/qAHzOARQYZ
