Agot Isidro calls President Duterte a psychopath on Facebook
Veteran actress and singer Agot Isidro lashed out at President Rodrigo Duterte on her Facebook account, calling him a “psychopath.” Her criticism of Duterte has received over 23,000 shares and 7,000 likes as of Sunday afternoon. “Agot Isidro” also became a top trending topic on microblogging site Twitter.
Isidro was reacting to a news article from Rappler where Duterte dared the United States and the European Union to withdraw their development assistance to the Philippines, claiming that the Philippines will survive anyway. Here’s what she wrote:

“Unang-una, walang umaaway sa iyo. As a matter of fact, ikaw ang nang-aaway.
Pangalawa, yung bansa Kung saan ka inuluklok ng 16 million out of 100+ million people ay Third World. Kung makapagsalita ka parang superpower ang Pilipinas eh. At excuse me, ayaw namin magutom. Mag-isa ka na Lang. wag kang mandamay. Hindi na nga nakakain ang nakararami, gugutumin mo pa lalo.
Pangatlo, may kilala along psychiatrist. Patingin ka. Hindi ka bipolar. You are a psychopath.”
(First of all, no one is fighting against you. As a matter of fact, you are the one initiating the conflict.
Secondly, the country where you got elected by 16 million people out of its population of 100 million is a Third World country. Do not talk as if the country’s a superpower. I don’t want to go hungry. Go hungry yourself – do not drag others with you. We already have a serious hunger problem – don’t make it worse.
Thirdly, I know a psychiatrist. Better get checked. You are not a bipolar person. You are a psychopath.)
Isidro endorsed Vice President Leni Robredo during the campaign. Robredo is the running-mate of Mar Roxas, Liberal Party standard-bearer and Duterte’s closest rival Mar Roxas. The singer eventually performed during Robredo’s post-inauguration thanksgiving party.
In a related development, former Senator and renown diplomat Leticia Ramos-Shahani adviced Duterte to go easy on his belligerent rhetoric against US, EU, and the United Nations in response to their criticisms of his conduct of the War on Drugs. She is the younger sister of former President Fidel Ramos, a staunch Duterte ally.
“We don’t need to make enemies to make new friends and that is the art of diplomacy. So I think our President, if I may have to say so, has to take a beginner’s course in diplomacy,” Ramos-Shahani said.
