#WalangPasok – Class suspensions for October 6 2016
(Updates, 12:00 AM)
On its second day inside the Philippine area of responsibility or PAR, tropical storm “Julian” is still projected to bring moderate to occasionally heavy in provinces in the extreme Northern Luzon.
In its severe weather bulletin released late Wednesday night, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) projected that “Julian” is at 275 kilometers east southeast of Basco, Batanes (19.5°N, 124.7°E). It carries maximum sustained winds of up to 70 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 70 kph.
“Julian” is moving westward at 25 kph and is expected to pass through Batanes-Babuyan area Thursday morning. It will move out of PAR by night. The weather bureau has warned small seacrafts not to venture out in the northern seaboard of Northern Luzon. “Julian” will also continue to enhance the southwest monsoon or habagat which in turn will trigger occassional thunderstorms in many provinces in Luzon.
PAGASA has raised public storm warning signals in the following areas:
Signal #2 – Batanes and Babuyan Group of Islands
(No classes for preschool, elementary, and secondary levels)
Signal #1 – Cagayan, Apayao, and Ilocos Norte
(No classes for preschool)
REMINDER TO COLLEGE STUDENTS:
If there’s heavy rains or floods in the area where you will be coming from, keep in mind CHED Memo #15 (2012).
“Students who are unable to report to class or participate in scheduled activities such as exams due to inclement weather shall be given consideration and be allowed to make up for the missed class or activity.”
Dear students,
Kung sobrang lakas ng ulan o baha sa lugar ninyo, keep in mind this provision from CHED Memo #15 (2012).#WalangPasok pic.twitter.com/qAHzOARQYZ
