Dulaang Laboratoryo presents “What If”
Whenever the word “theater” is mentioned, a lot of people readily associate it with glamorous venues and superstars such as Lea Salonga and Idina Menzel.
But before an individual reaches that level of success, what are the problems and challenges experienced by people who wants a career in the theater world?
This June 5, the University of the Philippines’ “Dulaang Laboratoryo” will stage “What If,” a one-night only show that revolves on the life of Raul, a student who’s dreaming of making it big in theater. Through him, viewers will understand the obstacles, weaknesses, and the strengths of a theater person.
“We witness and become part of the mind of a thespian, participating in its adventures, transformations and growth, while envisioning a myriad of the different emotions, scenarios both on stage and off stage,” Dulaang Laboratoryo said in a statement.
“What If” will be staged as a benefit show on June 5, 2015 (7pm) at the College of Arts and Letters Atrium at University of the Philippines Diliman.
A portion of the proceeds from the show will go to a charity attached to the Department of Social Welfare and Development. Interested parties may contact Nour Hooshmand (0915 715 1370) or Steven Tansiongco (0917 883 5371) for questions.
