#Traslacion2024 – Procession route and schedule of activities
Devotees of the Black Nazarene have began flocking to Manila ahead of its official feast day on January 9, Tuesday. The theme for this year’s “traslacion” is “Ibig Po Naming Makita si Hesus” which is derived from John 12:21.
The beloved icon is housed in the Quiapo Church, more formally known as the Minor Basilica of the Black Nazarene. President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr. has declared the day as a special non working-holiday all over Manila through Proclamation 434.
Below is the list of activities related to the religious occasion as announced by the administrators of Quiapo Church through their Facebook page.

The flurry of activities have began last January 3 and 4, when devotees take part in the procession for replicas of the Black Nazarene. The icon of the Black Nazarene will be subsequently transported from Quiapo Church to Quirino Grandstand.
During this vigil program, devotees have the chance to fall in line and kiss the statue of the Black Nazarene (referred to in Filipino as “pahalik“). By night time, several priests will take turns in addressing the crowd during the vigil, which is scheduled to last until the midnight.
Also during this time, devotees can have their confessions before members of the clergy that are in the area. By midnight, Manila Archbishop Cardinal Jose Advincula, Jr. will be officiating the traditional mass for the feast.
The vigil will resume after the Eucharistic Celebration. The procession or traslacion is projected to begin by 6:00 AM, or after the morning prayer, and will most likely last until the early hours of January 10.
