#WalangPasok – Class cancelations for October 5 2023

Storm warning signals remain hoisted in parts of northern Luzon due to typhoon “Jenny” (international name: Koinu), even though it is projected to leave the Philippine area of responsibility this Thursday, October 5.
According to the 11:00 PM freport of the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), “Jenny” will also continue to intensify the southwest monsoon rains affecting the western section of the country.
In its 11:00 PM forecast, the state weather bureau reported that typhoon “Jenny” was last spotted at 125 kilometers east northeast of Itbayat, Batanes (21.9°N, 121.8.°E). It has maximum sustained winds of 165 kilometers per hour (KPH) near the center, gustiness of up to 205 KPH, and central pressure of 940 hPa. It is moving north northwestward at 15 KPH. Its strong to typhoon-force winds extend outwards up to 560 km from the center.
In line with this, classes up to senior high school in certain local government units are expected to remain suspended for 5 October 2023, Thursday, in compliance with Department of Education order #37 series of 2022 from Vice President and concurrent Education Secretary Sara Duterte-Carpio.
