#WalangPasok – Class suspensions for 29 August 2023 due to #GoringPH

Parts of northern Luzon remain under signal #1 as of Monday night (August 28) with typhoon “Goring” (international name: “Saola”) expected to remain in the Philippine area of responsibility until Thursday. The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration or PAGASA likewise warned that “Goring” will continue to enhance the southwest monsoon for the next three days in many parts of the country.
According to the 5:00 PM bulletin of PAGASA, the center of severe tropical storm “Goring” was last located at 260 kilometers east of Tuguegarao, Cagayan (17.6°N, 124.2°E).
It carries maximum sustained winds of 155 kilometers per hour (KPH) near the center, gustiness of up to 190 KPH, and central pressure of 950 hPa. It is moving northward at 15 KPH. It has strong to storm-force winds that extend outwards up to 280 km from the center.
As of Monday night, the following local government units have announced class suspensions in their respective areas for 29 August 2023, Monday. The Filipino Scribe will be updating this post if and when necessary.

Lian, Batangas
Parts of Occidental Mindoro – Mamburao, Magsaysay, Calintaan, Rizal, San Jose
