DepEd to launch Oplan Balik Eskwela 2023 this 14 August 2023
With just two weeks to go before the official start of school year 2023-2024, the Department of Education (DepEd) is scheduled to launch the annual Oplan Balik Eskwela or OBE this August 14, Monday. It will run until August 26, and is set to coincide with the Brigada Eskwela 2023.
According to Deped Order No. 22-2023 signed by Vice President and Concurrent Education Sara Duterte, the OBE “is an annual initiative that engages agencies, organizations, and other stakeholders in preparation for the opening of the school year.” School year 2023-2024 is set to begin by August 29 for public schools nationwide.
“It is part of DepEd’s effort to ensure that learners from public and private schools are properly enrolled and that problems, queries, and other concerns commonly encountered by the public at the start of the school year are promptly and properly addressed,” the order further explained.
Aside from DepEd, other government agencies are also part of the Oplan Balik Eskwela including the Department of Health, Department of Interior and Local Government, as well as the Philippine National Police.
