#WalangPasok – Class suspensions for 29 July 2023 due to monsoon rains
Despite the departure of typhoon “Egay” (international name: Doksuri), much of Luzon including Metro Manila will still be experiencing southwest monsoon rains up until the middle of next week according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).
This is because of tropical storm “Khanun” which as of late Friday night has been spotted at 1,245 kilometers east northeast of Southeastern Luzon or 1,445 km East of Central Luzon (15.1°N, 135.1°E). It will be named “Falcon” upon entering the Philippine area of responsibility.
“Khanun” has maximum sustained winds of 65 kilometers per hour (KPH) near the center, gustiness of up to 80 KPH, and central pressure of 998 hPa. It is presently moving north northwestward at 20 KPH. Its strong to gale-force winds extend outwards up to 650 km from the center:

REMINDER TO COLLEGE STUDENTS:
According to the Commission on Higher Education’s Memorandum Order #15 series of 2012, “students who are unable to report to class or participate in scheduled activities such as exams due to inclement weather shall be given consideration and be allowed to make up for the missed class or activity.” This must be the case especially during instances where the local government executive did not announce suspension of classes.
