FBI issues wanted poster vs. religious leader Apollo Quiboloy for sex trafficking
The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) of the United States has included religious leader Apollo Quiboloy in its updated most wanted list for numerous cases including conspiracy to engage in sex trafficking by force, fraud, and coercion and sex trafficking of children. Quiboloy founded the sect Kingdom of Jesus Christ which is based in Davao City, Philippines, He refers to himself as the “Appointed Son of God.”
According to a “wanted” poster released by the FBI, American authorities are prosecuting Quiboloy “for his alleged participation in a labor trafficking scheme that brought church members to the United States, via fraudulently obtained visas, and forced the members to solicit donations for a bogus charity, donations that actually were used to finance church operations and the lavish lifestyles of its leaders.”
The FBI also noted that young female members of the Kingdom of Jesus Christ were recruited to work as personal assistants for Quiboloy where they performed household chores, gave him massages, and even had sex with him in what is euphemistically referred to as “night duty.”
Last November 2021, Quiboloy was indicted by a federal grand jury in the United States District Court for the Central District of California for conspiracy to
engage in sex trafficking by force, fraud, and coercion, sex trafficking of children, and bulk cash smuggling. A federal warrant was issued for his arrest shortly after.
Th FBI is inviting people with any information concerning Quiboloy to contact the nearest American Embassy or Consulate of their local FBI office if they are in the United States. The politically-influential religious leader is most likely still in the Philippines. Just last February 1, he endorsed the ticket of former Senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos, Jr. and Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio for the May 2022 national election. Obviously, Quiboloy will have to back a presidential candidate who will protect him from being extradited to the United States.
PS: Truth be told, the indictment against Quiboloy for sex trafficking (similar to the case against popular music personality R. Kelly) is a type of justice that is not possible in the Philippines given his money and influence. No one knows how many victims Quiboloy has had over the years. Nevertheless, may they all achieve justice.
