Kris Aquino goes to war vs Korina Sanchez over ‘Rated K’ episode with James Yap
Television host and actress Kris Aquino attacked veteran journalist Korina Sanchez after her former husband James Yap was featured in an episode of “Rated K” that aired Sunday night (April 22). In a series of angry posts on Twitter and Instagram, Aquino aired her frustration over what she sees as Sanchez’ insensitivity and ungratefulness toward her.
I take it personally because I sacrificed my children’s futures without expecting anything in return. And now, she’s showing my son’s deadbeat father?),” Aquino said, without mentioning Sanchez by name.
“I have really had ENOUGH. My brother rarely asks for my help, but he did for the presidential candidate that he endorsed. I did it because I loved him, regardless of all the criticisms I received because of it),” Aquino added, referring to her campaign appearances in behalf of Sanchez’s husband Mar Roxas during the 2016 presidential campaign.
Aquino went on to say nice things to President Rodrigo Duterte, the man who succeeded his brother and who, at times, seems to reverse much of his accomplishments. She said that she has been to Davao City several times for past campaign sorties and that in all those occasions, then-Davao City Mayor Duterte has been nice to her.
I apologize to my brother, and to Mar Roxas’ mother. But it is now clear to me why Duterte won the presidency,” she concluded, without further elaborating.

It can be recalled that Aquino and Sanchez has a complex history. To begin with, Sanchez is a former girlfriend of former President Aquino. Then, the two popular female media personalities joined forces in hosting “Morning Girls” from 2003 to 2004. For years, Aquino granted Sanchez exclusive interviews – ranging from her infamous admission in 2003 that she got a sexually transmitted infection from her then-boyfriend Joey Marquez to her 2008 revelation that her mother is suffering from colon cancer.
The two ladies relationship though has become strained since then. In 2015, Aquino implied that she wouldn’t have endorsed Roxas had her brother not asked him to. This is in contrast to her enthusiastic support for Roxas running-mate, now-Vice President Leni Robredo.
