#WalangPasok – Class suspensions for November 10 2017 due to tropical storm “Salome”

Classes in dozens of areas across Luzon are suspended for Friday, November 10, as the Philippines braces for the onslaught of tropical storm “Salome” (international name: Haikui).

In its severe weather bulletin released late Thursday night, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration or PAGASA projected that the center of “Salome” is in the vicinity of Mataas na Kahoy, Batangas(14.0 °N, 121.1 °E).

“Salome” carries maximum sustained winds of 65 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 110 kph. It is forecast to move west-northwest at 25 kph. It is expected to be 380 km west of Iba, Zambales (14.9°N, 116.5°E) by Friday afternoon. It will stay within the Philippine area of responsibility until Saturday morning.
