#WalangPasok – Class suspensions for August 26 2017

Tropical storm “Jolina” (international name “Pakhar”) is expected to have landfall in the vicinity of Isabela and Aurora this Friday night, which means much of Luzon will be experiencing moderate to heavy monsoon rains beginning tonight and tomorrow. As a result, classes in certain areas had been suspended for August 26, Saturday.
According to a severe weather bulletin released by the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) early Friday night, the center of tropical depression “Jolina” was last located at 130 kilometers east-southeast of Casiguran, Aurora (15.4ºN, 122.9ºE).
“Jolina” maximum sustained winds of 80 km/h near the center and gustiness of up to 95 km/h. It is forecast to move west northwest at 19 km/h. Based on the forecast, the tropical depression will have its landfall over the province of Aurora by late Friday night or in the early hours of Saturday. It is projected to move out of the Philippine area of responsibility Saturday evening.
