#WalangPasok – Class suspensions for 21 August 2024 due to volcanic smog

With significant parts of Southern Tagalog and Metro Manila experiencing poor air quality due to the combined effects of volcanic smog from Taal Volcano and pollution from vehicles, some local government executives have announced the suspension of face-to-face classes for Wednesday, 21 August 2024.

The Filipino Scribe will be updating this post when more information becomes available.

The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) has earlier announced that the Taal Volcano remains under Alert Level #1, warning that the public should stay at home and close their doors and windows to prevent harmful particles from entering their house. The agency also recommended the use of N95 face mask or gas mask.
