#WalangPasok – Class suspensions for July 23 2024

In its 5:00 PM tropical cyclone bulletin, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration or PAGASA reported that typhoon “Carina” (international name: Gaemi) has further intensified while meandering over the Philippine Sea.
According to PAGASA, “Carina” was last spotted 420 kilometers east of Tuguegarao City, Cagayan (17.9°N, 125.7°E). It carries maximum sustained winds of 120 kilometers per hour (KPH) near the center, gustiness of up to 150 KPH, and central pressure of 980 hPa.
“Carina” is moving north northeastward slowly. It’s strong to typhoon-force winds extend outwards up to 300 kilometers from the center, and is expected to remain in the Philippine area of responsibility until Wednesday.
Signal #1 has been raised over the following areas:
*Batanes
*Eastern portion of mainland Cagayan (Santa Ana, Gattaran, Baggao, Peñablanca, Lal-Lo, Gonzaga) *Eastern portion of Babuyan Islands (Camiguin Is., Babuyan Is.)
*Northeastern portion of Isabela (Divilacan, Palanan, Maconacon)
