April 19 2024 declared holiday in Tarlac City
Tarlac City will be celebrating its 26th foundation anniversary this 19 April 2024. The day has been declared a special non-working holiday by President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr. through Proclamation 499.
This holiday will give most of those who work or study in Tarlac City a three-day weekend because the holiday falls on a Friday this year.
Pay Rules for Tarlac City foundation anniversary – 19 April 2024
According to the 2023_edition of Department and Labor and Employment’s (DOLE)_Handbook_on_Workers_Statutory_Monetary_Benefits, the “no work, no pay” principle should be in effect during special non-working holidays.
In line with this, workers who are not required or permitted to work on April 19, 2024 in Tarlac City are not entitled to receive any compensation unless there is a collective bargaining agreement or a company policy that implements that.
The handbook likewise highlighted that employees who work during special non-working days must receive an additional pay of 30% for every hour that they render service.
