National Science Club Month theme for 2022: “GENESCAPE: Priming Perspectives, Amplifying Advancements”
With September just two weeks away, the Philippine Society of Youth Science Clubs or PSYSC has announced the official theme for this year’s National Science Club Month (NSCM) celebration. It is “GENESCAPE: Priming Perspectives, Amplifying Advancements.”
“Put on your lab coats as we probe deep into the world of Molecular Biology, where intricate biomolecular mechanisms lay the foundation for technologies larger than life!” the group said in a statement posted on its social media platforms.
PSYSC noted that there had been significant breakthroughs in the field of molecular biology in recent decades. “As we delve further into this new and exciting field, we will not only understand life beyond the naked eye but also take advantage of the technologies it can offer – from medicine to industries to agriculture,” it further explained.
Because the restrictions imposed in connection with the still-ongoing COVID-19 pandemic has gradually been loosened, it is possible that some education institutions throughout the Philippines will be able to hold their science month activities on-site.
September as “Science Month” was institutionalized by former President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo’s Proclamation 264, which she signed in 2002.
In the proclamation, Arroyo said that science clubbing movement and network is “a significant educational tool to encourage and inspire the youth and students to pursue careers in science and technology.”
