Receiving the Gawad Primero learning continuity plan champion award from DepEd NCR
I am so proud to share with all of you that I recently received the “Gawad Primero” learning continuity plan (LCP) champion award from the Department of Education-National Capital Region (DepEd NCR). I was recognized for being a module writer and content creator for video lessons.
Last year, I was one of the appointed module writers for Schools Division Office-Quezon City. I was assigned for the subject Reading and Writing Skills, one of the core subjects for senior high school (SHS) students. Core subjects are taken by all SHS students regardless of their strand.
I have been writing professionally for the last eleven years, but this opportunity is special for me because it meant that my works will be read by all Grade 11 SHS students enrolled in Quezon City public schools.
As I celebrate this latest recognition, I have a lot of people to thank. First of all is Mrs. Nimfa Gabertan, the education program supervisor for English, and Mrs. Josephine Miranda, the department head for English at Batasan Hills National High School (BHNHS), for trusting me with this task.
I would also like to thank Dr. Proceso Lera, the newly-retired principal of BHNHS, Dr. Rommel Mar de Guzman, the former assistant principal of BHNHS SHS and now principal of Margarito Duavit Integrated School in Rizal, as well as Dr. Maria Carmen Caseros, Master Teacher I for Humanities and Social Sciences at BHNHS SHS for their continous encouragement and belief in my capabilities as a writer and educator.
