#WalangPasok – July 23 2021 declared holiday in Batangas

The country will be marking the 157th birth anniversary of hero and revolutionary leader Apolinario Mabini this July 23, Friday.

The day is a special non-working public holiday throughout Batangas, Mabini’s home province. This is in accordance to the late President Ferdinand Marcos’ Proclamation 2367, which he signed in 1984. The complete text of Proclamation 2367 can be accessed here.

In an advisory issued last year, Batangas Governor Hermilando Mandanas stressed that Marcos’ proclamation covers not just 1984 but “every year thereafter.” And since it has not been amended and revoked, it remains in effect to this day.
