Teatro Tomasino presents “Kasaray Duma” this May 2018

Teatro Tomasinothe official theater group of the University of Santo Tomas (UST), will have Kasaray Duma: Mga Supling ng Sigwa” as its last offering for its 40th theatrical season.

Penned by Palanca Award-winning writer Eljay Castro Deldoc, “Kasaray Duma” features the story of a proud island tribe threatened to be torn apart by greed, conflict, and a country that ignores their birthright, identity, and culture. It is a theme that can resonate to a lot of Filipinos, especially those from the rural areas.

Through “Kasaray Duma,” Teatro Tomasino said it hopes to promote the need for cultural and environmental preservation among its patrons as well as to initiate discourse on the rightful place of Filipino ethnicity in a so-called progressive society.
