Late night quake jolts Southern Tagalog provinces, Metro Manila

An earthquake shook parts of Southern Tagalog as well as Metro Manila and even Bulacan late Sunday night.

According to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology or PHIVOLCS, the epicenter of this magnitude 5.2 quake is in  the west coast of Paluan, Occidental Mindoro (13.41°N, 120.17°E – 033 km S 89° W). The earthquake is tectonic in origin. PHIVOLCS added that no damages were reported, although aftershocks are expected.

The following intensities were reported in certain areas:

Intensity IV- Abra de Ilog, Occidental Mindoro
Intensity III- Sablayan, Occidental Mindoro
Intensity II- Pola, Oriental Mindoro; Quezon City; Pasay City; Malolos, Bulacan
Intensity I- Coron, Palawan
 
Instrumental Intensity:

Intensity II- Tagaytay City; Calatagan, Batangas; and Calapan, Oriental Mindoro
