#WalangPasok – October 26 2017 to be declared holiday in Cebu

President Rodrigo Duterte will declare October 26 2017, Thursday, a holiday throughout the province of Cebu for the burial of the late Archbishop Ricardo Cardinal Vidal.

According to Cebu Daily News, Duterte made the statement during his brief visit to Cardinal Vidal’s wake shortly after Monday midnight. He was welcomed there by Cebu Archbishop Jose Palma and Juanito Vidal, the late Cardinal’s younger brother.

Presidential Assistant for Visayas Michael Dino said he expects Duterte to sign the proclamation by Tuesday at the latest. Vidal, 81, passed away last October 18. He served as Archbishop of Cebu from 1982 to 2010.
