#WalangPasok – Class suspensions for September 25 2017 due to the transport strike

(UPDATED, 5:00 AM)

In light of the scheduled transport strike planned by jeepney drivers affiliated with the Stop and Go Coalition, several local government units have announced the suspension of classes in their respective constituencies for tomorrow, September 25. The strike is likely to affect Metro Manila and nearby provinces.

The Filipino Scribe will be updating this post if and when new information becomes available:

Classes in certain areas are suspended for September 25 2017 due to a transport strike by the Stop and Go Coalition

It is worth pointing out though that Stop and Go Coalition, the group behind this planned transport strike, isn’t really as big as more-established transport groups like PISTON, FEJODAP, and PCDO-ACTO.

In fact, PISTON (Pinagkaisang Samahan ng mga Tsuper at Operator Nationwide) has repeatedly announced through their Facebook page that they are not in any way connected to the transport holiday being set for September 25 and 26. Hence, it is possible that the strike won’t really have a significant number of participants.
