TRANSFORMERS 5.0 | The five best ‘Transformers’ of all time
The Transformers is no doubt one of the most popular movie franchises in the past three decades. It has gone a long way from being just a toy line back in 1984. It has already spawned numerous series, films, and video games based upon the titular machines. For those who do not know, Transformers are robots who can transform into various vehicles. One of them even transforms into a Toyota Hilux; available in the Philippines. There are two sides of Transformers, the brave and noble Autobots, and the evil Decepticons.
The latest installment in the movie franchise titled Transformers: The Last Knight hit theaters last month, and so, let’s take the time to list the best Transformers characters of all time.
- Optimus Prime
Perhaps the most recognizable Transformers character, Optimus Prime is the proud leader of the Autobots. With his bravery and strong leadership skills, he is responsible for some of the most memorable moments in the films (both animated and live action). He transforms into a truck, sometimes with a trailer full of weapons, making him someone not to mess with.
2. Megatron
The nemesis of Optimus Prime, Megatron is the leader of the Decepticons. With his cunning and ruthlessness, he has proven to be a formidable opponent who has caused numerous woes to the Autobots. He has had numerous transformations over the years, but his most iconic is transforming into a large gun, which can be used by fellow Decepticons.
3. Bumblebee
Despite being one of the smallest Autobots, Bumblebee is a character that definitely has a huge impact in the franchise. He is one of the characters that people also recognize the most, be it in his Volkswagen Beetle form, or the current Chevrolet Camaro in the recent films. With his loyalty to the Autobots, and being one of their bravest, Bumblebee is one of the most iconic characters in the franchise. He is also famous for being the closest friend to human protagonists like Sam Witwicky.
4. Starscream
The second-in-command of the Decepticons, Starscream is one of the most feared characters in the franchise. With his dark scheming, and desire to gain control of the Decepticons from Megatron, he is definitely someone not to mess with. He transforms into a jet fighter in most incarnations of the franchise, which makes him a dangerous opponent to the Autobots due to his speed and flight ability.
5. Grimlock
A member of the Dinobots, a faction allied with the Autobots, Grimlock is one of the strongest characters in the franchise. While he does not transform (hence, Dinobots), he resembles a T-Rex in most versions. When the going gets tough for the Autobots, having someone like Grimlock by their side evens out odds for them a bit more.
