Class suspensions for January 8 2016 due to the Feast of Black Nazarene
Several colleges and universities have announced the suspension of classes for January 8, Friday, because of the huge crowd that are expected to gather in Manila a day before the Feast of the Black Nazarene and in anticipation of road closures and rerouting schemes that will be implemented in connection to the big event.
As of Thursday night, the following tertiary institutions have announced class suspensions for January 8:
*Adamson University (Basic education – whole day/College – 12:00 PM onwards)
*Far Eastern University Manila (12:00 PM onwards)
*Philippine Normal University (whole day)
*Colegio de San Juan Letran (12:00 PM onwards)
*Lyceum of the Philippines University – Manila (whole day)
*National Teachers College (whole day)
*San Sebastian College – Recoletos (12:30 PM onwards)
*Technological University of the Philippines
It can be recalled that Manila Mayor Joseph Estrada had previously suspended classes in all colleges and universities for January 9, Saturday.
