#WalangPasok – Class suspensions for October 19 2015 due to Typhoon ‘Lando’
UPDATED, 8:00 PM
Dozens of local government units have already announced the suspension of classes in their respective constituencies for Monday, October 19.
This is anticipation of the torrential rains that may be caused by typhoon Lando (international name Koppu), which is expected to stay in northern Philippines until Friday according to projections by the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).
Based on PAGASA’s 11AM severe weather bulletin, “Lando” is already battering Nueva Ecija before advancing to the Cordillera region. It has maximum sustained winds of 150 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 185 kph. The typhoon is moving west northwest at 5 kph and is expected to be in the vicinity of Bauko, Mountain Province tomorrow morning.
PAGASA also raised the following storm warning signals:

The Good news is, PAGASA now has new equipments to accurately predict the weather. The question is, the DRRMC or the local government may not have the manpower and equipment to help evacuate those in danger.
