#WalangPasok – Areas with class suspensions for July 9 2015

A huge part of Luzon and even Western Visayas will continue experiencing torrential heavy rains because of the southwest monsoon (“habagat”), which is being intensified further by typhoon “Falcon” (international name “Chan-hom”).
As a result, various local government units have announced class suspensions for tomorrow, July 9. This post will be updated as soon as new information becomes available:

In its 5:00 PM weather bulletin, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration reported that the eye of “Falcon” is located about 1,065 km East of Basco, Batanes (20.6°N, 132.2°E). It has maximum sustained winds of 130 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 160 kph. It is forecast to moving west northwest at a speed of 20 kph.
The weather bureau warned that monsoon rains may trigger flash floods and landslides in the regions of Ilocos, Cordillera, Central Luzon, Metro Manila, as well as regions IV-A (CALABARZON) and B (MIMAROPA). “Occasional rains are expected on Western and Central Visayas. Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated thunderstorms will prevail over the rest of the country,” PAGASA added.
