Saab Magalona, a 25-year old fashion blogger and daughter of the late Francis Magalona, has confirmed earlier reports that she was physically attacked by a drunk guy during a private birthday party last May 31.
The mauling of Magalona was first reported by radio station DZRH last June 2. According to the news blog Manila Journo, Saab’s younger brother Elmo was the first one to confirm the incident.

A few hours later, she wrote: “Thanks for all the tweets. I am feeling better now. Our lawyers are on it!” Shortly before the day ended, she wrote about the incident in her personal blog without detailing the specifics:
“I do not wish to downplay nor overplay the events that happened so I will only tell you this: yes, I was punched on the head several times by an intoxicated man.
The unruly gatecrasher was part of a group of uninvited guests to an intimate and private birthday celebration. The celebrant and other guests were also attacked but fortunately a medical evaluation showed no major and permanent damage physically. “

She also wrote that she did not suffer any serious injuries and that her family’s lawyers are already working on the case.
According to DZRH, the mauling incident happened inside Capitol Commons in Ortigas, Pasig City, where Magalona’s group is having a gig.
The identity of the attacker was not disclosed. The exact series of the events leading to the assault was also not mentioned.
