Rain or Shine walks out during Game 6

The entire Rain or Shine Elasto Painters briefly walked out its finals game against the San Mig Coffee Mixers Wednesday night.  The walkout happened with still 11:39 left in second quarter and with SMC ahead, 31 – 17.

ROS Coach Yeng Guiao said they made the move in protest of what he described as biased officiating by the referees. According to GMA News, Guiao was particularly irked by a foul called on JR Quinahan when he attempted to block a shot by Mixers forward Marc Pingris.

The Elasto Painters was given 15 minutes to return to action, otherwise they’ll forfeit the game. Guiao and his players eventually returned. The team eventually received a warning for delaying the game,  a decision that can be regarded as too light.

UPDATE: SMC leads ROS at halftime, 49 to 43.
